Large European Phase II Study Using Med-ic® Smart Blisters

Med-ic® ECM® technology records patient adherence to correlate critical bloodwork

Ottawa, January 3, 2008. Information Mediary Corporation is pleased to announce that its Med-ic® RFID smart sensor labels will monitor over 250,000 doses in a large Phase II clinical trial to be conducted in Europe over the next 6 months. IMC has already delivered 6,000 self-adhesive smart labels to Aptuit, the study’s packaging supplier.

"With over 250,000 doses to be taken by patients enrolled at up to 4 study sites in two European countries, the Med-ic ECM smart pharmaceutical blister technology allows for factual correlation of medication adherence with results from labwork performed during study visits. This proves the effectiveness of Med-ic as an important tool for the clinical research community” states Prof. Allan Wilson, MD, PhD, President of smart packaging experts Information Mediary Corp.

About Med-ic®:

The Med-ic ECM (Electronic Compliance Monitor) is a revolutionary RFID sensor device that provides a disposable, inexpensive, state-of-the-art method to address the multi-billion dollar health care problem of medication non-compliance. Med-ic has been in commercial use for about 3 years in over 20 University and Research Centers throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.

The Med-ic CertiScan® RF Reader and CertiScan Compliance Monitoring Software retrieve and display patient compliance information using the latest in RFID technology.
